Na faculdade aprendi XSI softimage um programa bem chatinho.. um pouco dificil, no inicio.. mas assim que conseguimos perceber a estrutura dele e o modo de como trabalhar sem conseguir com que ele craxe e danifique algum "ficheiro" (aquelas coisas qe só iniciante consegue fazer) aha nos conseguimos nos habituar e fazer um bom trabalho nele !

Mas eu uso MAC em casa e sou um Steve Jobs hardcore fan.. e MAC é perfeito para mim aha e softimage so em Windows e acho que em Linux.. então tinha que escolher um soft 3d para usar no em OSX Leon..

e escolhi o cinema 4d. interação com after é muito boa e se vc trabalha com motion design é uma ferramenta muito boa!

e como agora ando meio sem $$ e tempo para fazer um curso na FXPHD optei por ver uns tutoriais free na internet.. e vou deixar aqui a Link de um rapaz que eu tou seguindo os tutorias e estou a aprender bastante!

Umas das piores coisas que me acontece.. é ter que lidar com coisas e frases de pessoas que pensam que sabem.. ou imaginam que as coisas já estão feitas...

frases como não tem um software que faz isso? quando isso acontece eu riu muito por dentro.. e penso pobre alma...

Imagina assim, voce vai vender um projecto a um cliente.. e mostra um filme, o AVATAR feito por inumeras pessoas/ Estudios.. e voce fala é isso que quer? e o cliente fica porra claro é mesmo isso! e vc fala pode deixa! ;)

ai vc chega em casa/trabalho fala que tem o projecto do ano.. e vai ser muito bom!.. e anima todo mundo ai explica vejam esse filme muito bom não e a galera fala..

esses dias tenho estado a ouvir um podcast chamado Design Matters! e acho que nunca aprendi tanto simplesmente ouvindo! Muito bom e inspirador! e em um desses podcast houve uma entrevista com uma designer. e ela tem esse grafico que ajuda a perceber se agente deve fazer esse projecto que apareceu que não tem grana para pagar!

Depois de um tempo sem quase não fazer projectos pessoais nenhum.. desmostivação mesmo!! falta de tempo não era porque quando queremos realmente fazer algo.. arrumamos sempre tempo! Voltei aos meus projectos! Para me manter feliz mesmo ahah acho que sem eles vou acabar me tornando mais um "Designer" frustado com a profissão.. mas tem que ser agente tem q trabalhar para pagar as contas e comprar nossos produtos Apple! ou tentar né ehe

Então dentro dessa minha frustação abandonei o blog, os projectos pessoais e só me prejudiquei, mentalmente aha.. Mas então comecei a ver umas palestras e uma delas foi do Ji Lee! (fica aqui a link)
Então ele fala dos projectos pessoais são muito importantes! e ele mesmo se frustou enquanto trabalhava na Satchi & Satchi em NY, e começou fazendo projectos pessoais e se tornou "famoso" com isso e mais feliz! Então me inspirei na Palestra.. e pronto 2012 tou voltando com força com os meus projectos!

e fica aqui um deles! será o Best work Words.. um grupo de palavras ilustradas.. de sensações / adjectivos etc.. referentes ao Nosso trabalho e vida mesmo..

A primeira que fiz foi Love.. e ainda esta em WIP (work in progress) Mas a ideia é criar depois wallpapers e disponibilizar para dowloand online :).

Hola!

Queria dizer que voltei!, sim é verdade passei quase 3 meses sem vir aqui e vi que algumas pessoas ainda custumam passar aqui.. e resolvi resuscitar o meu blog..

Bem a razão porque tenho estado ausente, do blog e mesmo da vida online é falta de tempo mesmo.. desde que acabei a universidade não tive oportunidade de realmente dizer estou de ferias.. acabei a Universidade trabalhando.. e pronto é basicamente isso que tenho feito além de passar tempo com a minha familia!

Entretanto tenho conseguido algumas conquistas bem legais, para a minha vida de freelancer.. tenho conseguido.. atrair clientes para mim de varios lugares do mundo! e acima de tudo do Brasil! País que cresçe cada dia mais!

vale a pena dar uma olhada, o characther design é muito bom e os cenários estão bem dentro do estilo!

A um tempo atrás "bastante" eu fiz um projecto sobre o processo de criatividade.. algo bastante exprimental ate para mim.. produzir uma peça com um minuto e meio em menos de uma semana ahah estava a aprender como era o after effects aha.. But ja passou e deixo aqui a link (foi em 2009, bom ano!) então em 2011 surge um projecto com um conceito parecido mas agora sobre imaginação.. sim um projecto alem do colors "que ja dá pouco trabalho" fazer o que... né? assim fica dificil fazer pelo menos um bem feito ahah sem contar com aulas de programação em c e c++ e claro um bocadinho de algebra.. Aqui na Faculdade de design de animação toda agente fica entusiasmado com o que as ferramentas podem fazer.. e por vezes (meu caso) cometemos erros de querer fazer coisas além daquilo que realmente somos capazes..
pensamos que "isso é facil" contamos com a ferramenta!!e não conosco ou mesmo com a nossa experiência... e no final o resultado é de longe o esperado... e tentamos culpar alguem em vez de nós pelo nosso fracasso já destinado.

E é isso que apresento no meu projecto de graduação, simplicidade leveza e clareza da ideia...

well there is 2 characther in de scene, the blue Orc is from my friend Maria and that kind of Elf is mine.. well for sure the elf is the best thing in there.. but i spend much more time in the scenary! i was in love with it!

Hello mates!

How was it going?
i'm so active these days, well this 2 past moths i guess.

That has a reason! the first is..

I joined forces with Dreamlab Studio! and have the pleasure to work, in such a nice place, with incredible people around!! I worked in a few project's as mainly graphic Artist and Pitch/Storyboard.. was incredible, for me i don't leave it so fast.. but school begins again.

3 year of my graduation.. and now is 3d all the year! "yeah some tridimensional work is come, finally Marcos"

isn't the first time i work in 3d, for real i started to work in 3d in 1ºyear, of my graduation maybe in the first week ahah... but just leave it.. ahah dedicated my year to design and bidimensional stuff..

But my interest for 3d was growing.. like watching so many Incredible VFX shoots in movies.. so many awesome! Characthers animation with so much espirit, (not just moving) well this start to get my attetion, my serious attention!!! and 3d compositing OMG those guys who work with NUKE, those guys rock's! and MARI?? what tha hell foundry team are eating?? i what that too!

Anyway...

I'm seriously back.. with new 3dstuff i hope! and 2d sketches, and stuff, i'm still working on.. in 2d.. you know animation take's time.. doesn't matter if is 2d/3d

You’ve seen the film, Coalition of the Willing. On October 10, 2010, Coalition of the Willing launches the second phase of the project: the Coalition Movement Camp 10/10/10 Work Party — a flash mob development party for the climate movement. This is your opportunity to log on, converge, and swarm!

The aim of the Coalition Movement Camp is to enable activists, experts, and ordinary people to collaborate online with the world’s top web design talent. The goal is to brainstorm ideas towards a new generation of internet platforms for the climate crisis.

The Coalition Movement Camp is staged to coincide with 350.org’s 10/10/10 Global Day of Action. The venue is an open collaboration space: http://movementcamp.org. There will be sessions devoted to specific projects and campaigns including 350, OneClimate, and Appropedia. You’ll be able to upload image and video files and contribute to real time chat. There will be chat and twitter aggregation and webcasts incorporating contributions by Skype video. Our facilitators will work to summarize developments and keep you up to speed. We are looking forward to an incredible day of collaborative design, planning, and development.

Bem, já tive algumas perguntas sobre o meu curso "Design e Animação Multimédia" e normalmente respondia individualmente, mas pensei, está duvida por vezes pode ser de bastante gente, como já foi minha quando me inscrevi neste curso, e claro andava feito doido atrás de informação acerca do curso.

O curso tem uma estrutura, digamos generalista, mas que é muito boa para quem esta a começar, para poder ter um conhecimento alargado do que existe em termos de meios de comunicação gráficos e de ferramentas (software)

1º ano
É basicamente todo sobre DESIGN ( heyyy adoro! e acho que tudo vive de design e não podemos viver sem esta solução) mas fiquei chateado que para estudar design tinha ficado perto de casa e não a 6 horas de viagem! Passei o ano todo a criticar o curso, (ignorância minha, não sabendo que mais tarde todos os conhecimentos adquiridos nesse ano iriam me ajudar imenso agora no 2ºano) Anyway, aprendi tipografia, design de comunicação, melhorei tecnicamente as ferramentas digitais, trabalhei imenso o desenho e as técnicas tradicionais.

Uma das coisas que mais achei importante é que os professores não se focam apenas na ferramenta que nos ensinam, durante a cadeira. São nos dados projectos que têm que ser bastantes trabalhados tanto tecnicamente como conceptualmente para mais tarde os defendermos em frente a turma. Háa e por cadeira só aprendemos um software, o que nos permite durante 4 meses nessa cadeira explorarmos esse software dos pés a cabeça! Quanto as cadeiras teóricas essas sim não são muito diferentes das cadeiras teóricas normais (a que estudar)

2º ano (Animação 2D finalmente )
bem se falta de animação era o problema no 1º ano ano, neste segundo ter muito que animar é o problema ! Bastantes exercícios nada de extraordinário para darnos a conhecer o movimento! Animação 2d:
Bouncing Ball, Boucing ball com transformação no final, Metamorfose, Walk cicle etc.

Narrativas para animação:
Se vocês gostam de ver animação esta cadeira vai ser a vossa preferida, durante 2 horas vais ver curtas e mais curtas de vários estilos gráficos e técnicos (just awesome) e vais fazer o StoryBoard pro curta da cadeira de projecto_1

Técnicas de animação:
Mexer com os brinquedos ópticos, zoetrope, taumatropico etc. só objectos com nomes engraçados mas que permitem fazer a ilusão de movimento. Háa também é explorado a plasticina/ recortes/área etc.

Estás são as cadeiras de animação mas tem outra de After Effect's onde todos os conhecimentos de animação são bem vindos no trabalho final da cadeira caso queiram fazer algo envolvendo motion graphics e assim. Depois claro têm sempre a companhia das teóricas, podem escolher entre Psicologia ou Sociologia. no segundo semestre a vossa cabeça é preenchida 80% pela curta de animação, parece muito tempo 4 meses mas não dá pra nada com imagem em movimento! mas claro que não temos só o curta pra fazer ainda existe cadeira de desenho e a de Multimédia (flash e web design) e ergonomia ( esta mete respeito e medo).

3º ano
Eis algo que não posso falar muito por ainda estar no segundo mas falando com os meus amigos e professores, e claro vendo os trabalhos deles acompanho tudo. O terceiro ano trás o 3D consigo! em geral, com cadeiras de animação 3d onde aprendemos rigging e a animar dentro da ferramenta 3D. e cadeiras de textura/Luz/Render e uma de desenvolvimento de personagens, no segundo semestre, outra curta de animação para encher a cabeça com preocupações de tempo ahah e tambem é explorado 3d tracking e match moving.

Este é um resumo do curso assim muito breve.

Quanto aos restos dos curso em Portugal não sei como são, mas existe uma certa falta de curso especializados mesmo em animação. existem uns e outros uma cadeira de animação, mas para quem sabe animação demora muito tempo a aprender e quantas mais cadeiras melhor!

respondendo a pergunta do Eukleyv ( que pode ser a de mais gente) . O Curso não é especializado em animação 3d (propriamente em characther animation) é bastante vasto nas áreas o que com certeza todas têm algo para te ajudar no desenvolvimento daquilo que queres fazer, no caso animação 3D.
Se procuras um curso que te abra horizontes, e não te prenda só ao 3d e te dê a conhecer outras formas de animar. recomendo! e claro o terceiro ano para irá ser animares em 3D o ano todo .
Eu defendo que a base tradicional para a ferramenta digital tem sempre bastante valor, e essa base tradicional é que permite ao artista chegar no próximo nível.

Eu acho que em DAM (nome que damos ao meu curso) temos a oportunidade de conhecer e experimentar tudo. e futuramente no mestrado ou trabalho, nos especializarmos naquilo que gostamos, e a experimentação é fundamental para esta descoberta.

Saídas profissionais: não esperem que o curso dê aquilo que precisas para arranjar um trabalho, dificilmente irá fazer isso. O que a escola melhor nós dá é apresentar as ferramentas e o que elas fazem, e nos dar oportunidade de mostrar o que podemos fazer com elas! O quanto formos bons naquilo que fazemos é que nos vai garantir arrumar emprego quando acabarmos isto! O teu reel final (o teu trabalho no seu melhor) que vai ditar o teu futuro!

Conselho, durante os 3 anos aproveitem as todo o tempo livre para trabalhar ficarem bons naquilo que gostam! divertir e viver faz parte, mas tudo de forma organizada (algo que tento fazer sem sucesso ahah), e trabalhem trabalhem trabalhem ate não poderem mais e sim terão o REEL que surpreenderá qualquer estúdio ;)

Quanto ao mercado de trabalho em Portugal, e fazer carreira aqui...
como estudante não posso falar muito, mas a minha opinião é,
é possível pelo que vejo o mercado vai crescendo tanto em animação 3d quanto em Jogos digitais, o que levará a procura de profissionais qualificados e bons. e sempre têm a opção de trabalhar remotamente para outros estúdios estrangeiros.
Isto está a crescer em Portugal e temos de ser nos a ajudar a criar esse filho!

normally i use ilot Autodesk Sketchbook Pro for the base of my Digital Drawing's. I really like photoshop but this particular program (SBP) is so easy to use and dont ask for so much computer memory as Photoshop, turns sketchbook pro my favourite program to sketch and paint for now, normally i use photoshop to texture and for lightning my drawing, in that way only photoshop hav the tools i need.I will let you guys with my first draw at sketchbook pro, the FIRST OF FIRST'S

The first sketch who i emailed to my Team for Approval and critic's & ideas!

After Approval i start to paint all with base colour's and modify some stuff who me and my team decided.
After Base colours is time to lighting and Shading! Drawing light and shadows is kind a hard we real have to figure out how the light will been and how it will afects diferents materials like textiles/ Glass/ wood ect.

All colours and lightning & shadowns done! is time to texture the cenary turn it to more detailed room.

Apple Ipad is a garanted success at Market, yes is it. Apple Store don't accept more pre-orders of imediat delivery, and the studies about the sellings allready had been passed Ipad will sell more than Apple though in the begining . For good seems like all world is waiting for this device!!
Alots of Critics at this device about for not running multitasking and stuff like flash suport seems not be a problem for all Apple Fans and addicteds.

For real if i had money i have no doubt i bought one. It's a Apple product for sure it will be Great. today i was at my cousin new house with a couple of friends from high school e we are all Apple fans and we talked about a friend of our who still using a IBOOK G3 from 1997 for doing is normal stuff like brownsing at web read email and all the normal stuff girl's do. isn't that amaizing? yes mate is an Apple! how many pc's you got from 1997 who still runnig like the first day you bought it?

PT: Olá amigos e leitos do meu blog!

Eu não estou morto, este blog esta meio no abandono por enquanto devido a uma certa falta de tempo ultimamente q tem havido na minha vida ahah.
O curta de projecto 1 de Segundo Ano de facul ja começou a ser produzido!
Fase do concept agora! aquela que me cabe, estive desenhando e esboçando quase 30 personagens ultimamente para a curta, parece muito mas são só 5 personagens que tem a curta mas eles evelhecem e isso leva a um desenho novo. Após disso Cenários!! Os membros do meu grupo ja estão em pesquisa de referências dos cenários enquanto eu termino esses personagens.
Além do curta tou a fazer freelancing, 3 no total fora um que ainda está pendente.

This was my FIRST MAC when i attendet to Art School, an ibook g4 greaat and powerfull! still's working like a chinese (never stop) a 800 mhz processor 256mb ram 30HD ahah sounds very poor and crap in this days but remeber was in 2002-2003 when i bought it! 7 year's never crashed never had been formated, well is a MAC what can i say?
