Pt: Olá amigos! Est é o primeiro test para a minha curta de final de segundo ano de graduação. Aqui temos a transformação do 2d para o 3d, eu desenhei os sketches para o interior da cena e fiz as vistas para todos os objectos dentro da cena e o personagem, e (Joaquim Roque&Rolla and André-aka-kizay) dois membros do grupo modelaram tudo em 3d e o Juliano vai texturizar e iluminar tudo e claro que ja pedi a minha namorada para nos ajudar com o papel de parede e decoração delas.

EN: arrrggg! well this was a illustration for a contest in a Bar in my university town, i entered in the contest and well finally i know the result,,, i supost to be the 2place buuuuuuuuuuutttttttt somehow some newwww rules appeared :D yeeaah i asked many times to the organizers about the theme and they said to me is free.. and me well that's make things harder, and well in the final was a theme :D ahah theme?? had to be an history behinde the illustration like "3littlepigs" example and you have to justify the illustration with a short coment! nothing of that appeared in the poster anoucing the contest... Well......... keep rocking Illustration contest Organizors you really know how to organize a contest!

Sorry to my friend's who was supost to keep and drink my prize (15euros in Booze).. I promiss i enter in the next one and 2place isn't go be my place.

PT: arrrggg! Bem isto é uma ilustração para um concurso em um bar na cidade onde estudo. eu entrei no concurso e finalmente soube do resultado. Era suposto eu ficar em 2º lugar maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssss não sei como novas regras apareceram. Siiiim, eu perguntei varias vezes aos organizadores sobre o tema e eles disseram que era livre, o que fez as coisas mais dificeis para mim.. mas no final havia um tema!haha um tema! a ilustração tinha que ter uma historia por trás como a dos "3porquinhos" por exemplo e tinha que fazer uma memoria descritiva do travalho. Nada disto estava no cartaz que anuciava o concurso! ... Bem... Continuem Bem organizadores de concursos de ilustração voçes realmente sabem como organizar um concurso!


E peço desculpa aos meus amigos que eram supostos ficarem e beberem o meu premio (15 euros em alcohol) Eu prometo que entro no proximo concurso e o segundo lugar não será meu.

En: All the 3d object was modeled inside After effect's is a good experience 2time i do that but you need a nice machine to run that well, wath is not my case.

Pt:Todos os objectos 3d sao modelados dentro do after effect's, é uma boa experiencia é a 2 vez q faço mas é preciso uma boa maquina para fazer correr isso bem, o q não é bem o meu caso ahah

En: This is me working hard in 2danimation classes, well we are starting on thinking in final year short film's and that are puting us in crazy state ahah but weel that's isn't a problem, well that's is my personal work plance a light table, a pegbar an 19 iches dell Monitor a Dell Workstation equiped with geforce Quadro! ahah 3d machines but i use that for surf in the web for the moment and for after effect's. i got a video from this class but that is in a computer of a friend of mine and well i forget to ask for it.

PT: Bem esse sou eu trabalhando arduamente na minha aula de animação, bem a turma ja esta pensando na curta de final de ano e estamos todos a entrar em estado de loucura, mas pronto não é problema. bem ali é o meu lugar de trabalho em todas as aulas, tenho uma mesa de luz, uma pegbar (objecto para prender as folhas) um monitor da dell de 19" e um workstation tbm da dell equipado com uma placa gráfica quadro. uma maquina equipada para o 3d mas que eu uso para navegar na internet, e brincar no after effects. eu ja fiz um video nessa aula mas deixei no pc de uma amiga minha e ate hoje não pedi o video.

AE. School exercises

Hello friends! well i don't bring yet some classical animation exercises, still all in paper and in CTP linetest's well today i bring some short animation i made for school exercise.. teacher said he want to us to do some animation with 3 animation principles, antecipation, exageration and follow through.. that was my entry ahah, and he said to me "Greatt that's is really Great" Thank you!

Pensa simples

Think simple, that the meaning of "pensa simples" well this design is a wake up design, i wake up, late again and open illustrator and start to design and why think simple? well i'm kind envolved in the pre-production of my 2ºyear graduation short film. and well the first meeting was in the last friday and today is another one.. we will start to decide the concept art of the characther who will be my responsability (i choose that) i'm not such good animator*

well i dnt update this for a long time, but well today is a good day for no reason apparently.. but well i wakeup 3:00Pm take classes 6pm to 8pm, sounds great and lazy but well i'm working since i arrived home and still on that!
so i bring today some project's of school!
this is kind a storyboard for my project of class of AE. teacher ask for us to make an animation with the 3principles of animation!, Antecipation, Exageration and FollowThroug. Well that's kind a easy and simple but well i want to trie make something eyecandy*

My 5*second project Airplane ( you can see in my last post's) is kind running of.. alot of techinical problems and this is kind a collab. with Kizay and well he got is stuff to do and that's why it's taking so long.

Maybe i will stop a little in this project's beacause i got some linetest to do at school (classical animation) And got some freelance work for do, for my clientele ( i think i can say that) i'm helping my girlfriend to in a Freelance work for a Hair Studio in Venezuela, my girl is making a Giant Billboard ( 1m x 6m )

Amadora BD!

Amandora BD is a comic book exhibition in Lisbon and my university friends Kizay and Rah (their's strange and cool name's. for real this guys names is André & Ricardo ahah) well this mates had the luck to be there for my unlucky i can't (money problems - Again!) well this guys had the lucky of bougth live in lisbon and i live in Aveiro (300km farway from there) but i asked for photos and kizay show me some. for these day's i'm trying to make design's and illustration with simple shapes, some influence of Chris Lee! (google it, this guy is the Art Director of BUCK.TV) and well it's really cool use simple shapes for work. kind of limited but make you work more in the concept

Hello my friends!

well i'm kind working in this days and have some to show to you guy's.. some print screen of my last Animation project with colab. with Kizay he modeled to me on airplane nothing hard just for trie to work with this guy, i also modeled some kind of Hindu Soldier, inside z-brush all was made in Zbrush with that gorgeous Z-spheres
in this project i made the scenary and all the concepts and all the work inside AE , inside maya was my friend Kizay.
This was the 3d sketch model i made inside zbrush, i love zbrush! the Anatomy studies at university helped too.



This piece was made today while i working in some classical animation exercices, the metarmofosis and the bouncing ball.
is some geometric style with my name there, MASDE

Well, in this weekend i was in Animatu "International Animation Festival" and was really great! a lot of interesting people from animation and film industrie, was very great! lot's of talk's about animation, meetings of the Studios and school's! and in the night was really Wow, all the people "director's, teachers, Artist's, designer's and all the people of the creative industrie together for a couple of beer's and watch some demoscenes from that crazy programmers from demoscenes

i also used a Wacom Cintiq! YES A CINTIQ!

1º weekend at univ.

Hi there!

well i know for a guy who was produced a short animation in 8 days, this days i'm kind not productive, this was my first week at university, and i'm really tired! and don't do nothing good or productive. For any reason i don't know why when i move to university my production level get very low and weak. i trie to understand and i guess is for be creative and productive you have to be in a place productive and creative!
actually i'm doing a work in drawn classes of Anatomy, and well i think it will be great, i have some work allready done and tomorrow i take some photoshots and post here for you see my bigg incapacity of drawing anatomy!

my first day at classical animation classes

today i got my first class of classical animation at school! and was great, the teacher is great i know him long time ago but never get classes with he. His name is Armando Coelho is a famous animator at my country. he actually runs a animation studio named Bang Bang animation studio they create short's animation for tv in portugal and also for FOX Universal. i got 3 diferent classes with him, classical animation, animation techinqes, Story for Animation , its really great!

well i also allready made a illustration with Livebrush! its really an awesome "plugin" for illustrators and graphic designer's

So long i know Live brush is a new software on web for vector illustration and cool stuff, and i have a pleasure to been invited by Live Brush to test this software! take a tour in the program i guess they gave a trial version or something! and the price of the software is very nicelly too ;)

hello my friends!

seven days on the project gosh! Today i worked in Animation Curves and better timings ( a tip from Jr. Cannest, Thank you! and Guera who helped me know how to work with that A. curves Thank you guys)
well along the creation process i change a lot of stuff really! some experiênces don't result, equipent problems and so, and well maybe the final version will be a little diferent than the storyboard!
I hope tomorrow i finish my project, and make a really fast post-production, and sound design will be made in the nexts day's, well does are the time target, but well.. that's only an experiênce, a little test of my skill's about what had i learn in Ae in this hollydays. !

School begins next Monday, new projects come with that!

well, yesterday was sunday and i don't do anything is kind a special day for me, for rest! ahah but today i come back and spend almost 12 hours doing some rotoscopy for my project!

was almost 400 frames rotosopied in photoshop, one by one.. not big deal is just take a lot of time! but get a nice result!

Hi,

so i said yesterday today i started to make the live action part of my project, and well don't work so well the weather isn't good, was raining and the light was a crap, i was recording in my living room when is most iluminated part of my house and well, don't work well, the video get some noise (light problems) and cromakey doesn't work so weel. was kind of boring, i tried to make it anyways spend like 5 hours on that with my brother who helped me alot, incluinding my Momy (My favorite artist :) the miss you teach me to draw), for in the final, check it and see nothing is good to work....

i will post some photos here of the scenary i mounted in my living room.



So now i will wait to tomorrow to see how the weather will be for record again, today i will just correct some erros of animations and mount some graphics in AE.

Hello friends, well today i dn't bring a lot of graphics and animation stuff, sorry, i just wake up a little late and get out house to meet my friend at downtown. and well that's was really great i don't see that guy in 1 full year and well, was great to talk about life experiêncs and Design experiêncs. and well wille i'm in downtown i bought my material for do the live action scene in my project!. So tomorrow i will start doing some video TAKES! CUT !

But well i bring to you the little work of today!


I just finish to animate this scene and resolve some bundle of PROBLEMS, when i make the render some parts who is dont supost to see apear, and well i noticed how Hard is work whit 3d layers in AE and and 3d cam and also, thats strange beacause when i made my first FULL 3d ANIMATION all inside in AE, such erros don't appear. well i spend some time trying to make it work well.I Also made a 200 frames animation in 3d, i created a box and made the MAP and animated, is just a piece who will be at my project. In the middle of the rendering this i just fall in to sleep and just wake up a few moments ago.



The video, well in the animation fault 2 ligths on the FILTER 2000 isn't allready there cuz is a old render, but i add it for be more fun, is like a red light and a green light in the machine and that interact with the animation.

hi i'm back again to show the Storyboard and animatic of my project! i made it in all day long.. a lot of scraps around the floor of my room, many of sheets in my bed! gosh it's crazy but, here they are






attetion: animatic is not the final version! is a good way to set the time of animation and sych the sound!
and give a nice way to view how long will it be and if that is possible or not, and if not we had to cut some
parts but in this case in a personal projecto i got all time of the world haha!

Creativity process - schedule

This is my project Schedule, is kind a short time beacause i have to finish it until the classes back again.

One of the most important thing when you want to do something is make a Schedule for the work with all the steps and days! This is the first time i made one for one project for be sincer, and well in my other projects that doest exist and that was a crap! organization is very important thing when you have or want to produce something. This one is a grandient mesh i made it for my GF, one of their gift's in their Birthday

This characthers was made a long time ago but damn it! i still love them today! really inspiring!


This was a recycle of one of my Academic works at university, i vector my own face and we have to trie to make it more realistic possible! well almost everybody made a gradient Mesh or something! But i never want to be more one, and i used the blend techinique to make shadowns and lights well result good!
I think i made this one in my second year at high School, i really like it very cute and coloured piece
